Let the 3 R's take on new meaning...Revitalize, rejuvenate, refresh old lessons. Let this wiki be our experiment as to how we can change the way we collaborate and direct our personal professional development. Let this be our playground to see what happens if we did this instead of..., if we tweaked that by..., let's be fearless with our "oops"!
Many of us have wonderful ideas and/or lessons. (Don't have time to input them? You can download your documents.) Some of us have lessons or ideas that could be streamlined, tweaked, or overhauled. Whichever the case, our ideas and/or lessons are our intellectual property and as librarians we should respect the originators with these common user agreements before we start:
• Works submitted may not be used for commercial purposes.
• Modifications are allowed, as long as others also post the modified version on this site.
• Works modified or used should be attributed in the following way:
a. Tell us the format of your work (audio, image, interactive, text, video, or any other format that should be developed)
b. Title of original work
c. Attribute work to original creator, as well as, the name of the most recent person who modified the work
d. Attribute source of work to <http://refreshing-library-lessons.wikispaces.com>
Do they look familiar? These are Creative Commons license considerations that can be found on <http://creativecommons.org/choose/>. With the above common agreements for use, works submitted should include the following:
1-Title of your work
2-Your name
3-Other relevant items you feel are important.
By the way, the idea of revitalizing, rejuvenating, refreshing old lessons came from HASL member Reiko G. The idea of doing it on a wiki comes from all those librarians who have a great need for lesson plan ideas but don't have the time to network, attend workshops or conferences.
Let's see how this will unfold. Let's start our journey.
